Partial Transcript: To go back a little bit, could you give us a little history of how your family got into your current business?

Segment Synopsis: Mr. Meyer explains how his family became involved in the funeral home business. His grandfather Herman came to America in the late 1800's and opened a shoe store, called Michaels, on Market Street between 3rd and 4th Streets. After losing the business, Herman worked at different places before coming to work with G. S. Rosenberg, who owned an undertaking company and gave half the business to him in his will. Mr. Meyer started working at the funeral home in 1956.

Segment Synopsis: Mr. Meyer explains his family has been most involved with B'rith Sholom and the YMHA, but his mother has also been involved in the Golden Age Group. Segment Synopsis: Mr. Meyer lists a number of people and families who were either prominent figures in the community or prominent in the YMHA. He names Sarah Bass, Mr. Hemberg, Maurice Richard, Henry Cohen, Gordon Flyshaker Jr., the Dinklespiel family, and the Taustine family. He also briefly talked about the YMHA camp and its effect on the Jewish kids in the city.
